About the Journal
APPS - Academic Journal of Applied Linguistics and Languages publishes double-blind peer-reviewed scientific papers with focus on applied linguistics as an interdisciplinary field that identifies, surveys and offers space for discussions and solutions to language research-related real-life topics. It is aimed to support scholarly exchange among teachers and researchers in the scope of Apps.
Professional fields covered by the scientific journal APPS are:
Linguistics (linguistic research at the intersection with education and language policy, psychology, communication research, discourse analysis and pragmatics, contrastive linguistics, anthropology and sociology, language ecology),
Applied languages (professional communication, translation and interpreting, terminology),
Language teaching and acquisition (methodologies of language teaching and pedagogical techniques, foreign or mother language teachers’ training and language teaching in pre-primary, primary, secondary, upper secondary and tertiary education, plurilingualism).
Literature in foreign language teaching and cross-cultural studies.
Although the publishing languages are in particular English, German, French, Spanish, Czech or Slovak, the journal welcomes studies dealing with the research or teaching of various languages. Each article requires a title, an abstract of 250 words and keywords in English.
APPS is published twice a year, in May and in November.
APPS is housed by the Institute of Foreign Languages at the Technical University in Zvolen, Slovakia.
